Hello
My name is Jailynn Robinson. I started my personal finance journey at the age of 22 when I entered Corporate America in 2021. I was a recent graduate of Hampton University’s MBA program. We talked and learned a lot about money in school, but I never truly applied that knowledge to real life.
When I first started my journey, I met with my investment advisor who was provided through my company, and I told her that I wanted to retire by 50. She told me that I was being unreasonable and that I should expect to retire around 57 to 60. From that moment forward, I knew I had to figure this out on my own and I did.
I gradually started to learn more about my personal finances and made it a goal to become debt free and build a $100,000 net worth. At that time, I had 23,000 dollars in student loans and 12,000 dollars in car loan debt. I paid them both off within a year of starting my job. In addition, I reached my goal of a $100,000 net worth in June 2023 and my investments have been growing ever since.
As I shared more tips about investing, saving, and best practices I had learned I realized that many people believed goals like these were impossible to achieve. Over time, people began reaching out to me and asking for help with their own financial journeys and how to build generational wealth. I often offered free learning sessions where I shared what I knew.
I started Financew.me to support young adults and new investors, just like I once was, to show that achieving your money goals is possible. With the right mindset, you can take control of your finances and create the future you want.
